Anhalt, MD, presents a challenging case in which a young patient with a severe intellectual disability presented with a crystalline lens subluxated into the anterior chamber due to frequent eye rubbing. Dr. Anhalt explains the considerations taken when managing patients with a limited preoperative examination and with expected continuation of eye rubbing in the postoperative period. He shares his manual small-incision technique to remove the lens and avoid the risk of further subluxation into the posterior chamber.
