Membranous Cataract in a Child

A one and a half year old child with bilateral congenital cataract and a rigid, small pupil is referred to Dr. Meena Ramesh. Four iris hooks are used to enlarge the pupil, which reveals a fibrous anterior capsule and membranous cataract. After the cataract is removed, a thick plaque is discovered on the posterior capsule which is removed bimanually.
