A Surgical Tsunami During a MIMS Procedure

Show Description +

Amar Agarwal, MD, shows the management of complications encountered during a minimally invasive micro sclerostomy (MIMS) procedure. The technique uses a specially designed rotating blade that moves at 8000 rpm to create a corneal scleral channel resulting in drainage of aqueous humor from the anterior chamber to the subconjunctival space to form a bleb. The tsunami begins when the rotating blade engages the iris resulting in a 360 degree iridodialysis.
