A New Way to Fixate an IOL Using the Canabrava 4 Flanged Polypropylene Technique

Beeran Meghpara, MD, shares a case of a patient with a complicated cataract who needed secondary IOL fixation. With a large polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) anterior chamber IOL already in place, Dr. Meghpara uses a unique technique pioneered by Sergio Canabrava, MD, using double-flanged 5-0 polypropylene prolene sutures to fixate the IOL to the sclera.
