Subfoveal PFO Removal With Soft-Tip Cannula

Ajay E. Kuriyan, MD, MS, presents a case of a patient who presented with subfoveal perfluoro-n-octane (PFO) during a postoperative visit following seven eye surgeries. Dr. Kuriyan used a soft-tip cannula to aspirate out the PFO through the retina, using intraoperative OCT to confirm that all the PFO was removed with no full-thickness defect.
