Dr. Sisk provides an update on the VISTA trial of laru-zova (Beacon Therapeutics), a subretinal gene therapy for X-linked retinitis pigmentosa. The trial met it's primary endpoint with a significant portion of patients achieving 3 or more lines of low-luminance visual acuity.

Hi, I'm Dr. Robert Sisk from the Cincinnati Eye Institute, and I just presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, meeting the top line results from Beacon's phase three study, VISTA, using subretinal LARA-ZOVA gene therapy for X-linked retinitis pigmentosa. This was a phase two / three multicenter randomized controlled clinical trial comparing two dose levels of LARAZOVA to untreated controls. The study met its primary endpoint with a significant proportion of patients achieving three or more lines of gain of low luminance visual acuity compared to controls. Also, microperimetry improved across treated patients compared to the control group. With these positive top line results, Beacon plans to file a rolling BLA submission later this year.
