Vitreous Bubble: A New Approach to Posterior Capsular Rupture

This video shows a novel technique to manage intraoperative posterior capsule ruptures (PCR) during cataract surgery that results in hypotony due to vitreous loss. This “Vitreous Bubble” method uses an injection of air in the anterior chamber which is pushed to the posterior chamber with OVD to act like a barrier between the anterior and posterior chambers. This technique can be used to assist in the phaco of small fragments, dry technique, and support of an IOL.
