Not very controlled technique, because when you start you dont know where the tear is going to stop. I start with the needle in the center of the capsule and then open it 2.5 mm towards me, then I fold the tear on top of the capsule, then I put the needle on top of folded tear and start to do a cicunferential movement of the flat tear on top of the capsule and you can delineate the exact size of the rhexis because the tear expands just the way the tear looks on top of the capsule. this way you make a centered, exact size and perfectly round capsulorhexis.

Ranchump, Indeed both techniques are safe, learn and use the one that make you feel better.

i am afraid of this technique for myself. i am sure the rhexis will run away.

Thank you, Dr. Condon, a simple needle doing the riight job. I rather prefer not to push into the epinucleus to avoid the milky cortex occluding the view of the border of the ccc, just doing tangential force to tear the capsule.
