Sulcus placement of Aniridia glued IOL

Show Description +

In this video, I demonstrate a technique to place an aniridia glued IOL on the sulcus below the iris stump and above the anterior capsule. This technique offers numerous advantages such as simultaneous iris reconstruction, avoiding PCO in the visual axis, maintaining an intact anterior hyaloid face and an intact capsulo-zonular barrier as well as not entering the vitreous cavity at all. It also offers all of the advantages of a glued IOL fixation such as ease and rapidity of surgery, greater long term stability, absence of pseudophacodonesis and the safety of a hermetic seal by applying fibrin glue.
