Subluxated Akreos Endoscopic Assist

Show Description +

A highly skilled rural surgeon realized the impending difficulty of stabilizing an Akreos (Bausch + Lomb) implant with vitreous prolapse and capsular tears; he had the presence of mind to interrupt surgery and refer to a more equipped setting. I always say that really fine surgeons are the ones who know when to stop in the patient's best interest. Armed with endoscopic control and a tertiary care level ASC, the staff increased the safety and efficacy of this repair. This video is presented by Steven B. Siepser, MD.
