Safety and Efficacy of a New Oval shape Phaco-tip in MICS

Show Description +

With the decrease of incision size in the 2000s and suppression of the sleeve in MICS, tears of the corneal stroma or the descemet membrane can occur during the insertion of a 20G round tip into a 1.1 mm corneal incision. An ovalization and smooth edge shape of the tip allows for an easier introduction into the anterior chamber without injuring the cornea. This video describes the development of this tip and its use for different hardnesses of nuclei to show safety and efficiency in MICS.
