Phacoemulsification in Relative Anterior Microphthalmos

Relative anterior microphthalmos is characterized by a crowded anterior segment and a relatively normal sized posterior segment. Cataract surgery in these eyes has high incidence of complications like corneal decompensation, PC dehiscence, etc. In this video we demonstrate a cataract surgery in eyes with corneal diameters of 7.7 mm and anterior chamber depth of 2.2 mm. We discuss various precautions that should be taken by the surgeon while performing cataract surgery in these eyes.
