Opacifying IOL Exchange

Show Description +

This video details IOL exchange surgery of a plate haptic, opacifying IOL that was implanted 14 years prior. The surgery was complicated by poor pupil dilation and thus additional pupil management was required with iris retractor hooks. Dr. Rehman demonstrates use of a SMILE lenticular separator to aid IOL-capsular cleavage and the use of lenticule removal forceps as alternatives to standard IOL exchange microforceps that are generally used for this type of surgery. The surgery was concluded successfully without significant complication.
