New Management for Subluxated Cataract: Double Flanged for CTS

Show Description +

Sergio Canabrava, MD, shows a new surgical technique he developed for sutureless management of zonular dehiscence larger than 120º using a capsular tension segment (CTS) or a modified capsular tension ring (m-CTR; CTR with suturing eyelets) and a 5.0 monofilament (polypropylene) suture. The first time this technique was described it involved using a haptic removed from a 3-piece prolene intraocular lens (IOL).
This technique won a Runner-Up prize at ASCRS 2017 film festival - Los Angeles in New Technique category.
