Long Oval Capsulotomy in Hard Cataract

Show Description +

Daljit Singh, MS, FAMS, DSC, explains the merits of a long oval capsulotomy. Firstly, a long gutter reaching the periphery of a hard nucleus is possible. This allows easy cracking, easy division and a better control on the segments. Secondly, and most important, there is never a rise of fluid pressure inside the capsular bag, Thus the chances of posterior capsule rupture and nucleus drop are almost abolished. [No Narration]
