Thomas Oetting, MD, and Anna Kitzmann, MD, present the case of a 78-year-old post-cataract surgery patient with uveitis and fluffy white material in the anterior chamber. The surgeon noted severe zonual laxity and residual lens material and decided to remove the entire bag complex. Kenalog is used to stain vitreous in the in the anterior chamber. I think it is better do vitrectomy around the IOL to free it from the vitreous before removing it this will prevent any tension on vitreous that might result in retinal detachment.
