Ming Chen, MD, presents a 62-year-old patient who presented for cataract surgery. The patient did not speak English and was uncooperative so she was given a retrobulbar block, but even under anesthesia the eye exhibits a paradoxical movement. At the start of the case, the manual LRI perforated the cornea. The eye movement makes suture placement more challenging.
