Chop Technique for Hard Cataracts

This film demonstrates phaco chop technique in a hard cataract situation using the Centurion phaco machine. The rhexis is close to 5.75 mm. Soft shell technique is employed to protect the corneal endothelium. A deep trench is sculpted and chopping is begun at the end of the trench with the Sinskey hook. The nucleus is sequentially chopped using the diagonal technique.
