This 47 year old man suffered blunt trauma to his left eye 40 years ago and now presents complaining of decreasing vision. Successful cataract extraction and subsequent Cionni CTR and IOL implantation is carried out with the assistance of the Zeiss Lumera microscope.

Dear Dr Jones, Have you ever seen a suture exposure with the hoffmann pockets . I feel the suture ends are cut slightly away from the knot and so can remain buried and do not protrude out regards dr b khare

wonderful surgery do you rotate the knot inside to prevent late exposure of the suture. i prefer to take multiple bites with the needle into the sclera which being flush with the scleral surface prevents knot related complications congratulations for the nice surgery

The knot sits in a scleral groove in this case. This video is from several years ago, and now I use 8-0 goretex and either a Hoffman pocket with an external knot or Siepser sliding knot internally tied and trimmed using miscro instruments. Thanks for your interest.
