Capsular Tension Ring Insertion Pearls: Using a Sinskey Hook

Show Description +

This video demonstrates a technique for inserting a capsular tension ring (CTR) using the commonly available Sinskey hook. One issue with CTR insertion is that it can become caught or snagged when it engages the peripheral lens capsule, particularly if the capsule is not fully inflated. This technique prevents snags on initial contact and allows the CTR to come into contact with the bag along a broader area. It can also be useful for avoiding or spanning areas of focal zonular weakness.
