Dear JA, the main purpose of this video is to show how the anterior chamber may fluctuate during phaco steps when there is some leakage due to the side port incision increasing the chances for posterior capsule rupture. Removing the second instrument (chopper) in the last stage of the phaco gives better follow ability since the system is virtually closed (no leakage at the side port) and the posterior capsule is kept posteriorly without fluctuation.

Dear Ari W. , thanks for your comments and the reason we created this video is to show exactly what you've said "the chopper won't save you" however, we see a lot of resistance by the residents in general.

i have always taught my students this-the chopper wont save you. take the second hand out and the decreased leakage will keep the capsule away.
