Brilliant Blue-Assisted Technique for Adherent Epiretinal Membrane Peel

A very adherent epiretinal membrane crossing the macula taking the foveal area caused a huge traction and macular edema. With brilliant blue we could easily separate the membrane and actually peel it off, thus freeing up the macula and giving the patient a better outcome. A wide-angle vitrectomy viewing system was used and both regular and wide-angle contact lenses were placed. Two air fluid exchanges and preventative endolaser were carried out.
