This was a great procedure even though the patient had a very small pupil, where we combined a scleral buckling procedure using a 240 band together with the vitrectomy, both aimed for closing the macular hole and attaching the retina as well. We believe that the combination of the two procedures decreases the likelihood of getting a redetachment as compared with the procedures performed individually (scleral buckle and vitrectomy).
