Autologous Retinal Transplantation for Macular Hole Repair

Show Description +

For this patient with a refractory macular hole, extensive internal limiting membrane removal had already been performed during a previous surgery, so both the inverted ILM flap technique and free ILM transplantation were not feasible. Furthermore, the hydrodissection effect achieved during a second revision surgery was insufficient to close the hole. Therefore, autologous retinal transplantation was performed, as demonstrated by Yusuke Oshima, MD, PhD.
