Hi Dr Tarik... the volk lens i use routinely is called Mini quad xl which is extreme wide field lens, there is another one which is called equatorial lens as well with lesser field but better mag. both these lenses come also with self retaining flanges which are called SSV (self retaining) models . the non self retaianing models , i usually place in the standard landers ring during surgery

Dear Dr Thomas, thank you for your comments. yes i use this landers like ring for most of my cases with 20 gauge surgery. It helpd to contain the viewing lenses quite well and is independent of assistant control which gives me for floxibility and efficiency. i really dont have any problems with is except just taking an extra suture at the beginning to place it. It holds both the landers plano lenses or the wide field volk/ocular lenses very well. For sutureless vitrectomy however since we are avoiding all sutures i usually use the lenses with flanges rather than suture the ring

Hello, excellent video. You always use this kind of lens with the ring fixed to the sclera? What are the pros and cons of it?
