Inside Out Vitrectomy Technique

Show Description +

Maria H. Berrocal, MD, demonstrates the inside out vitrectomy technique for cases in which there is difficulty finding the plane in the periphery. In this method, Dr. Berrocal uses the cutter to create an opening in the fibrous tissue covering the posterior pole. She then removes the tissue, starting from the center and moving outward to create relaxed areas in the periphery and prevent contraction in the future.
