Show Description +
Maria H. Berrocal, MD, discusses the benefits of small-gauge vitrectomy. Using aspiration, Dr. Berrocal peels epiretinal membranes and internal limiting membranes slowly and circumferentially from the surface of the retina. She presents her preferred technique using a 27-gauge probe, which is more forgiving than forceps when faced with increased adhesion or resistance.
