Controversies in Vitreoretinal Surgery

  Channels: Retina | Posted 3/7/2018

Timothy G. Murray, MD, MBA, introduces Charles W.G. Eifrig, MD, who discusses controversies in vitreoretinal surgery. Dr. Eifrig details numerous issues such as endophthalmitis after vitrectomy, ILM peels for epiretinal macular surgery, retained lens fragments, and the role of 3-D visualization moving forward. In his opinion, however, the biggest current controversy is the topic of facedown positioning for macular hole surgery.
