Neurotrophic Keratitis Winner
Case Information
The patient presented to Lauren McLoughlin, OD, for a cataract evaluation, complaining of decreased vision. He was a monovision contact lens wearer for more than 35 years. A cataract surgeon referred him to a dry eye clinic for a dry eye workup. The patient reported he had been treated for a “dry patch” in his eye for months by his optometrist. I tested his corneal sensitivity, and it was decreased in all quadrants. I started the patient on Cenegermin-Bkbj (Dompe), 6 times a day for 8 weeks. Visual acuity was back to 20/20 OS after treatment.
