Hypersonic vitrectomy (Vitesse, Bausch + Lomb) utilizes ultrasound power of 28.7 KHz and a stoke length of 0 to 60µm for liquefaction of vitreous in human eye. The vitrectomy system consists of the 23G, 33mm long stainless needle with 255µ sized tear-drop port at the tip which oscillates with user-controlled amplitude.
