Epi-Bowman Keratectomy (EBK)

Show Description +

This video shows Epi-Bowman keratectomy (EBK) using the Epi Clear device by Orca Surgical. EBK proposes to reduce the pain and healing time associated with the epithelial debridement portion of photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) by using a specialized dynamic multiblade polymer epikeratome to preserve Bowman layer for precise epithelial only surface removal. The device simultaneously sweeps the epithelial surface while collecting the epithelial cell debris into a multi bladed tip.
