Enhanced Visual Recovery Following Vitrectomy for Symptomatic Macular Pucker

Show Description +

Hudson de Carvalho Nakamura, MD, shares an internal limiting membrane strategy used to perform a double peel on a taut epiretinal tissue macular pucker. Brilliant blue provided crisp staining, and under high-magnification visualization, 25-gauge forceps enabled a controlled and continuous lift of both the epiretinal membrane and internal limiting membrane. The maneuver resulted in a clean macular surface, resolution of metamorphopsia, and a meaningful improvement in the patient’s quality of vision.
