Severe diabetic retinopathy with maculopathy and a retinal detachment is very demanding for the retinal surgeon. In this case, Dr. Hudson Nakamura shows how to counteract the tractional forces and halt bleeding using perfluorocarbon liquid, endocautery, and endolaser, as well as controlling IOP and performing a perfluorocarbon liquid to silicon oil direct exchange.
