Agreed--improved instrumentation and lighting allow most of these cases to be done with smaller gauge surgery (unfortunately I did not have as good of videos for these at the time this was published). i would prefer to use my 23/25G cutters to do all of it without any use of scissor. i hardly have to use scissors once you have so nice cutters to segmentation. it does reduce lot of iatrogenic breaks too. even need of bimanual surgery has come down even for the very tough membranes.
