STAAR ICL Removal After Femtosecond Cataract Treatment Followed by Symfony Lens Insertion

Show Description +

This video demonstrates that a STAAR Surgical ICL can easily be removed undamaged after femtosecond cataract treatment. The patient is aged 42 years and underwent an ICL placement 15 years prior to this surgery. The nuclear cataract is removed and a Symfony (Abbott Medical Optics) lens is inserted. When performing the femtosecond treatment, it is important to visualize both the anterior capsule and ICL when setting the gates of treatment. This was done in this case using real-time OCT on the VICTUS Femtosecond Laser Platform (Bausch + Lomb).
