yes that means we have to stress in our residents the need for manual capsulotomy rather that to jump to on the new technology in cataract surgery

Thanks for sharing such a beautiful video!but the platform is unknown in this study. To me,Femto cataract is a mid-way technology, but for sure it would be the future of cataract surgery.

Hi Soheil, thanks for the comments. The commercial platforms were not named for the purposes of the video due to promotional rules. Femtosecond was performed on the Catalys, Optimedica at 2 centers. Capsulotomy specimens were anaylsed under electron microscopy from 3 platforms, the Catalys, Alcon LenSx and LensAR. More details for the study available at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24084498 Anterior capsulotomy integrity after femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery. Hi Shaun That is a really good video covering an interesting topic. Congratulations to Brendan & his team for the honest & unbiased study. Perhaps reassuring for those who may be hesitant in doing Femto dougbonne

Impressive. Excellent study. The hands of the surgeons are so much better than any laser machine !!!

This study is superb and needs to be seen and appreciated by more anterior segment surgeons. I congratulate the authors for bringing this little known aspect of femtosecond laser technology to our attention.

Excellent video. Good to see something that is unbiased and not produced by a company producing a femto laser.
