In this video we show our technique for collecting the DMEK graft and our technique for doing the triple procedure. We prep the donor tissue ahead of time prior to bringing the patient into the room, then perform our standard cataract technique. We then strip the host tissue and implant the graft, and place 20% SF6 gas.

How do you know which face of the endothelial layer is contact with stroma? Visionblue was used as a stain but both sides seemed to be stained or is it based on how it scrolls?

Hi Sevak, We use the "S" stamp which is placed by the eye bank. It is placed on stromal side of the donor tissue. In the beginning of the video it is inverted. After placing the graft inside the eye, the "S" is in its correct orientation. You can see it near the secondary incision in the video. If you do not have access to the "S" stamp, there are other great techniques available including the Moutsouris Sign or hand held slit beam. Mike Straiko has a great video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tTeZbvo5wI Thanks for your interest. Mike Greenwood
