Ahmed Glaucoma Valve Implantation in Refractory Pediatric Glaucoma

Show Description +

Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV, New World Medical) implantation is an effective treatment for refractory pediatric glaucoma. Studies report success rates as high as 85-90% after 3-4 years, with success often defined as IOP within a specific range (5-21 mmHg) with or without medication. The AGV is attached to a small plate placed under the conjunctiva and is designed with a one-way flow restriction system to prevent hypotony.
