What's New in the Treatment of Bacterial Keratitis?

Moderator Casey Claypool, OD, of Empire Eye in Spokane, Washington, discusses new trends in the treatment of bacterial keratitis with Francis Mah, MD, of Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. The prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is increasing, and it is a very difficult pathogen to eradicate. Three medications, FDA approved for systemic use, can be compounded for ocular treatment and are helpful in these cases.
