Esther L. Kim, MD:
Esther L. Kim, MD (00:17): Hi, I'm Esther Kim from Orange County Retina. I had the pleasure of presenting on early treatment versus delayed treatment with pegcetacoplan after five years. And in our trial, we found that patients who completed two years of OAKS and DERBY were eligible to continue into the three-year open label GALE trial. And we were really comparing those patients who were treated from the beginning of the trial to the sham crossover with their three years of treatment. And we see that those who were treated early on had two times the amount of retinal tissue preserved compared to those who are crossed over. In other words, there was two times the amount of retinal tissue saved and 1.5 times the treatment duration. And this really underscores the notion that patients who were treated early on really get the most bang for their buck, the most preservation of their retinal tissue, even those who are crossed over never fully caught up to those who were treated from the outset of the study.
