A Xen 45 gel stent (Allergan) is implanted using a novel ab externo technique that does not utilize conjunctival dissection or tenonectomy. This technique ensures optimal placement of the implant in the subconjunctival space to maximize intraocular pressure lowering and decrease bleb needling rates.
