Vital dyes have been gaining special attention in both anterior and posterior segment surgeries. Trypan blue is an important agent in anterior segment surgery to facilitate safer and easier procedures. In this video, three glaucoma procedures–trabeculectomy, needling, and Ahmed valve revision–where 0.1% trypan blue was used alone or in combination with mitomycin C. With this video, the authors aim to validate the use of vital dyes in glaucoma surgery as an important step to obtain the best results for our patients.
