Frederic Aissani, MD, shares a case of a 74-year-old woman who experienced decreased visual acuity for 6 months. Preoperative OCT showed cystoid macular edema and preoperative fundus examination revealed a vasoproliferative tumor in the far periphery. Dr. Aissani performs surgery with the implantation of a 0.7 mg dexamethasone intravitreal implant (Ozurdex, Abbvie).
