TRIAM...TIME: Triamcinolone-Assisted Vitrectomy

Show Description +

The use of Triamcinolone Acetonide (TA) has been a milestone that has improved the quality of vitreo-retinal surgery. Although TA is not a dye, it highlights vitreous and hyaloid, thus improving the visualization and further removal of these pre-retinal structures. Chromovitrectomy translates in a more accurate, fast and complete surgery with a much lower risk of complications and recurrence. Authors Cesare Forlini, MD, Paolo Rossini, MD, Adriana Bratu, MD, Matteo Forlini, MD, and Caterina Benatti, MD, discuss the benefits of particulate marking and demonstrate the use of VITREAL S, a diluted suspension of triamcinolone acetonide, in several posterior segment cases.
