Traumatic Cataract Extraction with Repair of Traumatic Mydriasis and Iridodialysis

Show Description +

Sandra Johnson, MD, and William Carroll, MD, show the management of a case with multiple anterior segment injuries. The video walks though the placement of an AR40 lens (Abbott Medical Optics) in the sulcus due to an irregular capsulorhexis and realignment after fibrous anterior capsule decentered the IOL.

Very interesting case, but the video is accelerated (2x-3x), possibly in order to reduce total video length, thus resulting in many details of crucial maneuvers not being sufficiently visible. It would have been better to take a little time and edit the video. I would encourage the authors to do so.

I realize it is upside down but it did not affect the refraction with this style lens. Also, the patient is a few years out now with no UGH problems either. SMJ
