Phacoemulsification Hard Cataract With Lens Coloboma

Lens coloboma is characterized by loss of zonules in a few clock hours. It might be congenital or secondary to chronic trauma. There is change in the shape of the lens with flattening at the equator. Chance of intraoperative complications is higher than in normal cases. We demonstrate a case of lens coloboma secondary to childhood trauma and dense nuclear cataract. Endocapsular ring was used. Capsular tension segment was not used as support from rest of zonules was adequate.
