Total Retinal Detachment with Posterior Pole Fibrosis

Show Description +

Gustavo M. Hüning, MD, shows the case of a 68-year-old, white, female patient who presented with a total retinal detachment at the 4-month evolution. Despite being a common surgery, the focus was to show the difficulty due to posterior fibrosis. Cases such as this require thorough peripheral shaving vitrectomy and a good seal of the tear to decrease chances of re-detachment.
