The Importance of the Trabecular Meshwork

Show Description +

In the eye, aqueous flows through valves in the trabecular meshwork and external wall of Schlemm canal with approximately two valves per circumferential millimeter. These valves permit the discharge of aqueous and help prevent reflux of blood. This animated video illustrates how the iStent inject (Glaukos) helps restore natural physiological outflow in a microinvasive approach.
