Small Incision Ultra-thin Cut DSAEK

Show Description +

In this video, we perform a small incision (~2.75mm) ultra-thin cut DSAEK (47 microns). Over the past 4 years we have reduced the thickness of the donor graft as well as the incision size for our endothelial transplants. This results in less induced refractive shift and better vision compared with our previous technique of thicker ~100 micron tissue and a larger ~4mm incision. The endothelial cell counts seem to follow previously published attrition rates as well.
