Subconjunctival or sub-Tenon injections are a popular method of drug delivery in ocular surgery, particularly glaucoma filtration surgery. Controlling the distribution of a drug, especially off-label injection of MMC, is crucial and can be challenging. The Provencher Barricade, a new surgical instrument, controls the application of drugs injected into the subconjunctival or sub-Tenon space. It gently compresses the tissue and barricades drug application to a controlled 3 clock hours. It’s available through Epsilon USA, and all proceeds will go to underserved glaucoma patients.
